Easy Walking trail trial

Please note - this is a trial of the Easy route being planned by Annan the History Town Group which will use information hubs being installed soon and we are looking for feedback from this trial. The trail loops so it can be started at any of the information points. This easy route is 0.8 mile (1800 steps) taking 18 minutes if you don’t stop to take in the history and the views. Please note some pavements are uneven, narrow or non-existent so please take care - especially when crossing busy roads.   Once established, there will be much more historic information, quizzes and questions on the proposed web link and the boards themselves. Downies Wynd – Central Hotel Here the information board will give details of Annan the History Town, the High Street and the Riding of the Marches traditions.  This location gives a good view of the historic sandstone buildings, a lot of them are listed buildings. Annan Old Parish Church – Downies Wynd There is a lot of history to be found at this location. Dates over doors, on guttering, widened pathways and a benchmark can all be found without too much searching.
